Biocote anti-microbial coating from Vertika

Vertika has utilised the properties of silver, producing an Anti-microbial ingredient
which when added to our fabric ranges inhibits the growth of a wide range of micro organisms such as MRSA and E-coli. The safe natural inorganic silver components used have been proven to work throughout history, with no evidence of any resistance to date.

Vertika products inhibit the growth of bacteria between hospital cleaning programmes. During cleaning the number of bacteria on the fabric surface is reduced. Fabrics can be re-contaminated between each cleaning programme resulting in bacteria levels increasing. Vertika treated fabric will keep the number of bacteria to a minimum. Especially, where high frequency traffic exists, or in areas where special requirements have to be catered e.g. Hospitals and food handling, the potential for cross contamination by harmful bacteria is immense. In recent years the problems of Hospital Acquired Infection and food poisoning in restaurants has brought these subjects more into the public domain.

It is essential that the Vertika products are used in conjunction with good hygiene practices such as increased surveillance, greater education and frequent hand washing. Vertika offers a secondary level of protection against cross contamination.

All fabrics in the Vertika Anti-microbial range are fire retardant to European standards EN 13773 Class 1 or BS5867: Part 2: 1980, 'Specification for fabrics for curtains and drapes. Flammability requirements.'

SILENT GLISS 6021 TRACK

Silent gliss a major manufacturer of cubicle and window tracking components have now marketing their 6021 window tracking, known as the pop out runner type track as a Safety rail.

Although this rail system does help to reduce the risk of self harm it should not be confused with an full Anti Ligature system .such as the vittesse 6200 magnetic release rail system which has proven and constant load release characteristics.

Silent gliss only provide a guide line for the estimated load release of 1 runner in a track on its own! 4-6 Kg and 8-10 Kg for the end stop and leading runner ,as yet they have failed to produce any manufactures figures or guide lines for the load required to seperate the runners from the track when 2 or more are stacked together ie. a self harm attempt using the length of curtain which hangs from underneath the track .

manufactures guide lines are 10 runners per mtr, an average of 18 runners on a small track!
