Training

We have found that many ward and maintenance staff are unfamiliar with the systems installed, how they work or what they are designed to do. We strongly believe that your staff are your eyes and ears on the wards and should be trained to identify problem areas before they turn into hazards. See Ligature issues

To this end we can give a short presentation with a discussion session to raise their awareness in this area equipping them to recognize potential problems. The presentation would take approximately 2 hours and cover the following

  1. An introduction into the whole issue of anti-ligature system
  2. The aim and purpose of the equipment and run through some  of the key  issues.how they operate, our test procedures, and a critical review of each system type.
  3. A more interactive session on the problems we have seen in real life.  Examples of modified and poorly fitted systems being demonstrated to the audience.
  4. Finally, a question and answer session where we ask for help from the staff to try and improve the presentation for the future and learn about issues they face on their own wards.

  certificate

At the end of this session we would provide a certificate of attendance to each person as proof of their having been through this training

As you can now see, S.D.A.L.S. can provide a comprehensive service in the area of anti-ligature rail fittings, giving you the peace of mind that systems are correctly fitted and operating effectively.   S.D.A.L.S. will continue to monitor this performance on an annual basis, and by training your staff, your own personnel will carry out informal, day-to-day checks. All this adds up to a safer environment for patient care with a clear, auditable methodology to ensure this safety continues.

Should you require our support, I would be pleased to be able to meet with you to discuss further the overall service required, the costs involved and the scope and timing of the work
